Choose Happiness

It sounds simple, and it is if you train your mind. We encounter a wide range of emotions, from happiness to anger to sadness to elation and everything in between, sometimes in a short span of time.

It is your choice to live your life in the emotion you choose. You can choose to be angry all the time and live a life of anger, upsetting everyone you encounter and making yourself and others miserable. But why? Why would anyone choose to live a life of anger? It’s often because we don’t understand. Such people don’t understand that the choice is theirs.

Life on Earth is too short to live in anger when happiness is also a choice. When you are happy, you make others happy, including yourself. The happier you choose to be, the happier you become, and it becomes a habit. It is easier said than done, but like any other habit, it becomes a practice.

There are plenty of excuses to not see happiness as a possibility because of daily changes and life experiences, like illness, poverty, depression, tragic accidents, and even the death of friends and loved ones. Have you encountered angry, depressed people with great wealth? Have you encountered happy people with no money at all? Likewise, angry people claim they are that way because they lost all their money and never had anything, to begin with. There are folks who have lost their entire families in tragic accidents yet choose to be happy. Choose happiness.
