Meditation for type A personalities (interrupting thoughts, called monkey brain, are okay)

The easiest thing in the world you could do is sit quietly, do nothing, and think about nothing. This is called meditation and is probably the hardest thing you will ever experience. However, it will also be the most rewarding.

Everyone tells me the same thing, “I have too much going on, too many thoughts coming in all the time, so there is just no way I can sit quietly without thinking of something.” I get it. It’s almost impossible. Impossible for you, for me, and for 99.9% of all humans.

It’s okay! Forget about it! Seriously!

When a thought comes in like, I have to change over the laundry, or did I feed the cat? Let it go. Just let it go and return to the light. I know! You will have to do this constantly. Your entire meditation is, letting go of your thoughts. It’s okay. You will still get to a wonderful place of bliss if you diligently keep moving forward. Don’t let those pesky thoughts rule you.

Believe me. There are days when I start my meditation at number 60 hoping to get to zero and I never get past 59 after 30 minutes of trying to calm my mind. It’s okay. Keep going. It’s ultimately worth it.
